finally, i've moved in!

yup. after long while since i got the keys (feb 2005) and a month long of renovation... i finally moved into my new place.

not much special, had my first homecooked meal for dinner in new home. aerial tv still pretty blur but watchable for some channels. (that reminds me to call the management to tune the damn thing for me)

i did managed to changed the main door lock all by myself. installed the magnetic door stopper too.

and i was installing the water heater shower on saturday nite. that thing was pretty troublesome since the wall was made of reinforced concrete, my little driller and cute drill bit wasn't able to penatrate into the wall after the first layer of cement.

anyway, i need a good hammering drill to do the job. and i ain't got one.

after almost 3 hours of drilling and "manual hammering" i finally got the thing to stick onto the wall.

all of those hardworks had cost me the farewell/birthday dinner of phoebe. sorry feebee...

this morning i was all prepared and ready to drive to work, afraid that there will be massive jam since i am still new to this area for morning rush hours.

who knows... i forgot that a lot of ppl will be on leave for the upcoming week long holidays.

it was a smooth drive to work. less than 30 minutes. i shall see what happen next week when everybody comes back from kampong.

and my phoneline hasn't been activated yet... not to mention broadband connection.

let's pray for my broadband...

missed the chance to work in china.

the headhunter called me just now.

she said she has talked to the client. the only requirement i didn't fit was c,c++,c#, but i fitted the rest of them very well.

"however, my client wanted the candidate fast..." she said.

"how fast? like 1 month?" i asked.

"no, in raya week. or latest the week after raya..."

"..."

so... that's the end of it. i missed the chance.

but she did mention, there aren't a lot of chinese ed people who could speak english and also willing to work in china.

so she will keep my profile in view and hope to call me again when there's another match.

quitting my job

finally my boss called me into his room yesterday to talk about my resignation.

i've shot him left and right, and i don't think he is going to counter offer me anything. (duh, he has got nothing to offer and i am getting the salary i asked for 4 yrs ago! )

anyway, he let me go and told me if i needed help with partnership for any project, i can always ask him. (uh... maybe. because this company really charge CHEAP.)

but... 5 minutes later, he called me back into his room again. he passed me a job description from his headhunter friend. it's a tech team leader position in guangzhou, china.

anyway, i followed up with the lady headhunter and she asked me to send her my profile first. she does sound very keen on getting me in.

she called me back an hour later but damn telco tower was having problem. it got cut off when i picked up the phone and it went into voicemail.

but... i couldn't get into my voicemail, i couldn't even dial any number. furthermore it was an "unknown number" shown on my missed call screen. so i didn't even know she called me.

only until around 5pm, i got my voicemail and called her back. but she wasn't picking up as she was in meeting out of office. (according to her office people)

guess i'll try calling her again today. wish me luck.

bad day...

today is one of those worst day in my working life.

early in the morning, client has called on my handphone. server is down, what else?

back to office, boss were yelling. and asked us what's the backup plan. duh... he must have forgotten, since the very beginning i strongly against going for that cheap hosting package.

web, database and email servers all on the same machine, kinda like putting all the eggs in the same basket. and now the basket has dropped... the eggs are gone. and yet he yelled at us. fucker.

i tried very hard to resist saying "i told you so."

and then i thought of what all the other interviewers told me during interviews, "2 months notice period seem a bit too long."

so i guess i am going to throw in my resignation letter later today or tomorrow morning.

last nite when i went into caltex station to get my refreshment, i saw this...



i was like... oh great, another new flavour from pepsi... but when i looked closer...

omg! it's coffee flavoured pepsi!



with some hesitation, i forked out RM1.90 for experiment (and perhaps my health too).

it wasn't too bad. it kinda tasted like pepsi float with coffee. and so far i haven't been poisoned.

lazy...

hazel has asked me to update my blog... i have been very lazy on blogging lately. ever since started renovation on the new place.

there were shit load of stuffs to take care of. and for some interviews to attend as well. also lots of other stuffs in my mind as well. (which i wasnt sure what i was thinking sometimes, but just seems to have lots to think about.)

i've became less concentrated on everything now. yeah, everything. my mind sometimes seems to wander off somewhere eventhough when i was watch tv, driving, eating... and i know the great einstein used to be like that too.

yes i am looking forward to quit my job. but before i do that i need to ensure i found a new job first. i can't possibly afford all the bills after renovation and no stable income.

i've snapped quite a number of pictures onto my phone at my new place. renovation is done, most of the furnitures are in as well... it's almost completed as a livable place.

i'll upload the pics next time. too lazy to do it now.
